Practical Completion Inspections
Ensure your building is up to scratch with our Practical Completion Inspection.
Have you scheduled your PCI Building Inspection yet?
Our meticulous inspectors have excellent attention to detail and will ensure no stone will go unturned throughout every stage of the practical completion inspection (PCI) for your new home.
You must schedule your pre-completion inspection with a professional independent inspector once your builder has advised you that they have completed the contracted works and have addressed all your previous concerns raised during the build.
Don’t fall into the trap of doing the inspection yourself, or believing that your builders warranty will cover any defects, so you don’t need to worry about a professionally completed PCI before your new home is signed off as complete by your builder.
We strongly advise all our clients to ensure every defect is identified, urgently flagged and properly resolved by the builder before completion of each major stage of the build and prior to you taking possession of your new property. It is beneficial to have all structural and cosmetic defects rectified before taking possession to avoid endless, expensive and emotionally-draining disputes over your new home or investment.
What does our pre-completion inspection cover?
During the inspection of your new home or investment, our inspectors will:
-
Examine every single room of the house
-
Clearly note down and query all defects and faults
-
Provide a detailed comprehensive PCI report of findings and recommendations for your follow up
Why is a PCI Building Inspection so important?
This will be the last opportunity for you and your family to have one last chance to make sure the builder has done their job.
Certain construction defects such as a leaking roof are difficult and expensive to remediate while you are living in the property and can cause damage to other personal goods. In addition, you want to avoid disputes with the builder relating to damage that can be incorrectly attributed to occupancy.
While the builder is compelled by law to provide post occupancy warranties and maintenance guarantees, a professionally conducted PCI building inspection is critically important and we recommend that it must not be omitted for your own protection and peace of mind.
